Product details
Mode of Action
Post-emergence herbicide with foliar uptake only and no soil activity. A systemic herbicide that is readily absorbed by plant tissue, is moderately phloem-mobile and accumulates in meristematic regions. Grass weeds cease growth immediately after treatment, with yellow patches appearing within 2–3 days to one week, leading to necrosis and death of the whole plant within 2 to 3 weeks.
Benefits
1. Effectively control paddy weed and other gramineous weeds.
2. Has a better safety to crops
Precautions
1. Rotate the use of this product with non-Group 1 herbicides.
2. Only treat small seedling weeds that are actively growing. Weeds larger than 5 leaf will not be controlled.
3. Drained fields ensuring there is still 1 to 2cm water depth to ensure active growth and at least 75% of weed foliage is exposed to the spray.
4. Start reflooding after 24 hours and fill the field as soon as possible to limit new weed germination and maximise weed control.
Environmental Hazards
Except when treating rice fields as specified, do not apply directly to water, or to areas where surface water is present or to intertidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment washwater or rinsate.
Surface Water: the product can contaminate surface water through spray drift from aerial and ground application equipment. Treated rice field water can contaminate surface water through accidental release or overflow, or by deliberate release due to normal growing practices, including interim or final release of flood water at harvest.
Groundwater: the product demonstrates the properties and characteristics associated with chemicals detected in groundwater. The use of this chemical in areas where soils are permeable, particularly where the water table is shallow, may result in groundwater contamination.
